more knitting

Apparently, I really can't stop knitting. I finished the Lace Ribbon Scarf last week. Blocked it and sent it on it's way without a taking a picture. No time to do so. So, many pretty finished knits leave without a farewell photo session. I work well with a deadline but always to the last minute. With only one hank of yarn the scarf ended at 57" in length, it's a decent length for wearing with a jacket and not getting all tangled up.

Speaking of tangled up. That green expanse above is my Tangled Yoke Cardigan that I started two nights ago in a frenzy. The yarn is Rowan Scottish Tweed dk and I only have 5 balls. Hmmmmm, will definitely need more, but how much more? I'm guessing 7. Still, I'm waiting until all 5 are knit to place an order. It's a risky move because it means putting the project down and whenever I do that it usually takes me YEARS to finish. I need to work obsessively on one thing until it's done or else it will languish.

Witness, above, the product of a knitting frenzy from last December, it's the Arctic Diamond Stole. Oh, how I love this; but I had to put it away to work on work knitting and this is the first chance I've had to reevaluate it. At some point, I thought it would make a great pullover so I worked some decreases for arm shaping. But, now I'm not so sure because the idea of knitting the rest of this piece, then a front and TWO sleeves does not sound interesting. Better to just frog down to the shaping and continue working it as a stole.

Your knitting must be making up for my lack of knitting in some way. I haven't been feeling well this week, so I haven't been doing much. Ah well. I'm starting to feel better, so things are looking up. That Actic Diamond Stole looks like it's going to be gorgeous!

I really want to make a tangled yoke too. But something about knitting at that small gauge form the bottom up scares me. Can't wait to see yours all finished.

You need 7 more balls for Tangled Yoke? Tell me that's wrong! :-)

Don't put it away, it's a lovely knit and needs to be finished! At your speed, it should take, what, 3 more days and you're done, Kat!

I love the colour for the Tangled Yoke...you should definitely order more so that you'll complete it soon!
Strangely enough I'm having trouble finishing a 2nd sock at the moment (I am working on 3 sweaters at the same time however)!

I just bought some Jo Sharp Silk Road DK Tweed for a Tangled Yoke and am just wrapping up a few other projects before diving in. Yours looks great so far!

I'm always inspired by your color choices and yarn selections. I am very interested in the idea of changing a shawl into a sweater! Only a math genius can do that! Wow, not me. I can't wait to see the finished results.

i'm with the others - order the yarn now - don't send this gorgeous sweater to the time out corner. my crystal ball says you'll need 4 more balls but hey be safe order 5. :)

Kat, if you look at the Interweave Knitters Group on Ravelry, you'll notice that many of us who made the tangled yoke cardigan ended up using a lot less yarn than we expected to. I returned two completely unused balls to the store for credit -- made the sweater with 4 balls of yarn.

Hi tenli, thanks for the info. i did check ravelry and found a knitter who is using the same yarn as i am, the rowan scottish tweed dk, and she used ten. I ordered six more just to be safe.
