summer preview
I’m so excited to see this sneak peek of the summer Interweave Knits issue. The Lace Chuppah I designed looks so pretty!

It's freakin' amazing is what it is. I really want to see a bigger picture. Will have to score a Summer IK.
DOH! Wrong identity. That was me above :)

It does look fantastic, Kat. Will need to get a copy too, before I leave.
Marnie must really be into food. And gambling. Hmmmmmm.........

Ha! I love that Marnie has a secret identity.
The Chuppah looks incredible. It looked big in person but that picture just makes it look glorious and HUGE!!!! Can't wait till the issue comes out.
its beyond anthropologie gorgeous!
PDX Restaurant roulette: HA! When I read this in my inbox I thought "Interesting comment from a gambling knitter".
I cant' wait to see the bigger photos too. It looks great so far, much better than it did while it was blocking on the garage floor.
Simply magnificent!
It is amazing! I am so glad that they photographed it well! Can't wait to see the issue.

One word: WOW! I can't wait to get my hands on that IK!
I would like to know if there is an errata for this pattern before I start it. I haven't been able to find anything like that.
Thanks for the info.
Kyrie: As far as I know, there isn't an errata for the pattern.
I am making this for my daughters fall wedding, so beautiful, I would have liked more close up pictures of lace patterns and maybe a flat photo--thanks Kat for a beautiful pattern
Jane,
I wish I had taken photos of it before I sent it to the magazine! Live and learn. It is so helpful to have reference photos for knitters. I'm so pleased to hear that you are knitting this. I knit a Chuppah for a close friend a few years ago and it really did look beautiful.
Hi Kat,
I love this pattern! I I would like to make it for a wedding gift, but the yarn costs more than I would like to spend. Can you recommend a substitution?
Thanks so much,
Jeanette
Hi Jeanette,
It's hard for me to recommend a substitution without knitting with the yarn first. Maybe you could try one of the yarns from knitpicks. Try one of their bulky or super bulky yarns, I think they have a few with alpaca content. Knit a swatch and see how you like it before you buy the quantity needed.
I'm not sure how much you'll save. I think the Plymouth Baby Alpaca Brush runs about 6.00 per ball.
The plymouth alpaca is reasonably priced. it just gets pricey when you add the glitz. It's hard actually to see the glitz in the pictures. Is it necessary to get gauge or for the lace to lay properly?
Oh wow, it is gorgeous!!! Just amazing!
Jennie: thank you!
Jeanette: I posted a close up of the swatch so you can see the silver carry along yarn. The silver looks really pretty but I suppose you can make it without. You'll have to do a gauge swatch and see if it matches the gauge of the pattern.
stunning!
