Ta da. Witches Britches from Knit 2 Together by Tracey Ullman and Mel Clark. Never mind, that I dreamt last night of being at a two-day party of Alice in Wonderland characters. I was Tweedledee being chased by a lion and falling down a pink staircase looking for my key; I think I'll wear these britches!
Modifications: Yarn (Naturelle Cotton from the stash), stripes 6 rows deep, longer leg length, shorter waist (turned down the waistband after short row shaping), and provisional cast on with knitted on border (instead of sewing the border on) and the waistband stitches are sewn down as live stitches.

VERY CUTE--I KNOW YOU LOOK GREAT IN THEM.
You are seriously rocking those britches. Fabby!
The color combination is fabulous as are the darling lace cuffs. That camisole with the little nipped in waist is the perfect accompaniment!
Kat - these are amazing! I wish I had your legs - rockin' ankles. I wish you were going to be around Saturday - let's get together soon.
Yeah! I love these. They look great! Incidentally I just posted pictures of my daughter yeseterday in the culottes I made for her. You have inspired me to come up with an adult version!
Gudrun
Oh, I have long leg envy (not that this is a new thing)! Those are way too awesome! So cute on you!
SO SO HOT!! My daughter has been admiring that pattern. Can't wait to show her your quite tasty interpretation.
Love them. And, your photo is awesome. The tendrils of hair are a nice witchy element.
Awesome! I've actually started a pair for my daughter in a solid color, but now, I can't make them solid, I have to rip out and make them striped!! Those are so cool!
They are look wonderful on you.................. and so beautifully made!
These look so great--comfortable and stylish! How fun.
BTW: thanks again for your helpful feedback regarding the Eyelet Skirt. I'm done the first half, and am about to cast on for the second. So far, it's been a delight to knit.
Thanks so much everyone for joining in on my britches party. Later, in the day after I posted this photo I was heckled (about the hand knit pants), so it's sweet to get all these nice comments!
Those are soo awesome!
They are great, and look great on your body! :)
Hope you get a lot of wear out of them! ( If they looked like that on me I would wear them everyday)!!!
eeeeek They're adorable!
Those are great. Looks like a ton of work but so worth it. Now just grab your broom stick and go!
Lovely Britches! The color somehow reminds me of Cheshire cat ;-), in a positive way of course.
kat...if i've said it once, i've said it a million times...YOU are a true original. xxoo, suzan
I love them!
