tangled sleeve, arctic diamond and stash

Thanks for the encouragement to knit on with the Tangled Yoke. It is such a great pattern and design. I finished most of the five balls, leaving some to transition to the next batch of yarn on order of a different dye lot - 6 more is what I settled on. Hopefully, the colors won’t be too dissimilar.

Progress has been made on the Arctic Diamond as well. I ripped quite a few rows back to the armhole shaping and then went bonkers staying up all night knitting like a person possessed. Here you see my little helper holding up three repeats of the pattern. I think six repeats will be just right to finish and use up what yarn I have on hand.

Speaking of yarn. Something else that kept me busy this weekend. Organizing the old stash. Yikes! What isn’t shown here are the coned yarns, mostly denim and crochet cotton.

Perusing Ravelry the other night I stumbled upon the Babette Blanket. Some of these projects are amazing. And, brilliant for stash busting. It should make a miniscule dent in mine.

Glad to know my collection of yarn is not alone in its little plastic boxes. I told my husband when we build the addition (master bedroom and bath)that I needed a sitting room (aka studio) and a storage closet added for the yarn.

If he wants kids that means I lose my studio and that is not ok so he has agreed.

Oh and I am excited, I am casting on for your Spring IK skirt in April.

Hi Chris! Stash should have a room of it's own. So glad to hear that you're going to knit the Trumpet skirt. I'm thinking of knitting it for myself too.

Oh you are shaming me with your Tangled Yoke progess- yours is coming along so nicely! I stopped at the sleeves and haven't picked it up in months. Eesh. Love the organized stash shots!

I'm going to show my spousal unit your stash. He thinks I'm addicted to yarn--Ha! Yours looks so neat and organized. Mine isn't. I hate looking for something too. I can never find it, so I just buy more! Yes, I love the Babette Blanket. I remember buying the magazine just for the blanket pattern. I would love to make it. You should start it. Your color selections would be awesome!

I am so impressed with the stash organization...I like the idea of the clear boxes...I think I will steal that idea. I have to admit my stash is quite small in comparison, but seems to be growing weekly. I just can't knit that fast.

raining sheep: stash organization is the only house cleaning I enjoy. The clear boxes are great because you can see what's inside.

Edna: HI! I went by the shop the other day but you were closed. I'll try again soon! I love all your new jewelry.

Wow. Seeing your stash makes me feel a lot better about mine. While mine is becoming substantial, it's a ball of this, a ball of that. I never understood how someone could have so much of one type of yarn - material & weight, not only brand to make a big project. Now I know. Thank you. :)

Sienna, Glad I could help! Actually, most of my yarn is random, a ball of this and that. Or I might have the same yarn but in all different colors. Sometimes I have five balls of something so if I want to make a sweater I need to buy more. That being said, there's no denying it's a lot of yarn!
