swatch
This is a scan of the swatch I did for the Lace Chuppah. It's just a small portion of the stitch work in the pattern but you can see some of it up close and also the hint of silver from the carry along yarn. Click the photo to see it bigger.

That's beautiful, Cat! The intricate details are so lovely, and the silver really enhances it.
So lovely. I didn't realize there was a lovely shimmery carry along fiber.
The heart in the lace pattern is just sweet, and the overall effect is so intricate, you are so talented!
Thanks Kat! It looks so pretty close up. I ordered the plymouth alpaca and cut corners with a less expensive shimmery yarn i found on ebay. Thanks for the advice. :)
So pretty. I would love to have a chuppah like that - especially if someone like you knit it!!!
Kat,
I just picked up a copy of Interweave knits summer issue and was blown away with the Lace Chuppah....what a feat of knitting...that's incredible!

I, too, adored this pattern in IK. It's fantastically lovely -- do you think it would be hard to elongate it so that I could use it as a canopy for our Queen bed? Too late for me to use it as a chuppah, LOL!
Hi Beanmama,
Thank you!
The chuppah is knit in a square in the round, you can make it bigger by knitting more rounds but to make it a rectangle would take some reconfiguring and recalculating the rates of increasing. It would make a pretty canopy, and would work fine (I think) as a square with some overhang along the sides.
